hey guys!  i know i haven't been very good at posting replies and all that ... i'm sorry and i'll try to get better.  i hope everyone is having a great summer.  spl, i hope germany is great, eddie i hope research is going well, everyone else ... be happy.
i got a job as a babysitter and a job as a pool attendant.  i'm taking chemistry at j sarge, and they are alright.  kind of.  umm ... i went up to visit andy at george mason and they have a really great campus.  i've reconnected with a lot of gerties and that has been fun.
anyways, enough about that.
so, virginia union university's basketball team are national champs.  they were invited to the white house and when they went they listed to this speech that bush gave to honor black musicians.  and that is all fine and dandy, but bush invited them down.  he should have acknowledged their accomplishments.  he should have stayed and accepted their gifts and taken a picture with them, like any host.  i mean, these guys were sitting right there with their trophy in hand.  i donno, i think that vuu has so much to be proud of.  their school started in a slave jail, and now, their basketball team is the shit.  bush had time to pose for the cameras with the huskies, the patriots and the red sox, so why couldn't he slap on that  cheap plastic smile of his for va union?  whatever, i just think that was really low class of him.  those guys deserve more respect than that.
four guys died in iraq the other day.  our men and women are falling at rates of 2 a day.  i think it's sick.  the dept. of defense, that "noble" little fortress of democracy, says that
1,688 soldiers have died since the start of the war.  i blame every single one of those deaths on bush.  i mean, come on.  we impeached clinton over monica, and yet when this guys comes in telling us lies about wmd's (and then allows the blame to be single handedly shouldered on george tenent .... ) we stand apathetically by.  i look at that statistic and i wonder how bush sleeps at night.
oh, and by the way, cheney is an idiot.  we send our men and women off, we shout from the rooftops about righteous purposes and freedom everywere, how democracy is the way.  and then, we hold men and women in prision for years without giving them reasons or filing charges.  those guys in gitmo, yeah they're rough, but, while trying to champion human rights and the very essence of what we stand for, we are destroying the system.
i donno if i believe this, but supposedly there is something like almost 9 billion dollars that was in the budget for rebulding afganistan that is now missing.  that's a pretty penny ... i think that we should probably try and find it.
oh well.  the us is in some pretty thick water right now, and not that i neccesarily believe that the democrats will be knights in shining armor, but, i think that they would clean up a little bit.  at least i hope they would.  otherwise i'd have to bitch about them as well.
anyways ...
i'm listening to destiny's child and i have to clean my room.  i hope everyone has a great day ...

i haven't written in this in a really long time.
so here i go.
well, april has really kicked some ass.  earlier this month, will and i went to cotillion together with chevone, mattie, steph and eddie.  i felt like a princess, i loved my dress.  everyone looked great.  later that night we celebrated eddie's birthday and hung out ... good times.
i helped plan mandy's surprise birthday party.  we ended up blindfolding her and taking her to fugi sushi.  she almost killed herself challenging craig to a wasabi war and it was very amusing.  i mean, it was scary at the time, but ... now that she's all safe and happy ... it's okay.
my birthday was last friday.  a bunch of us went out to dinner at city steam.  they gave us our own little "room" and it was yummy.  i had so much fun, a lot of people i love were there.  my first legal drink was beatlejuice.  yay!!!  my buddies toasted to me and sang to me and i felt really special.  we came back to my place and ate cake and brownies and then the cool 21-year-olds (and up) went out to brickyard. it was so much fun, they gave me 26 shots for free!!  well, they really gave us 5 shots downstairs and then 21 on the upper floor.  it was ... an awsome experience.  we were dancing and there was a band and .... it was so much fun.  and our trusty ebony pulled us out before we got too crazy.  i'm a pathetic lightweight ... but i was careful and it was so much fun.  i won't ever foget it .... ever.  my girls walked me home and i got to talk to mike and i didn't have a hangover in the morning.  greatest night ever.
my little chevoney was in surgery today for her ankle.  i was worried about her all day, but she pulled through.  mattie told me all about it ... he's such a great guy.  i'm so glad she has him.
anyways ...
i can't believe bush nominated john bolton to the u.n.  i mean ... first of all, does it make any sense to send a deligate who has publically belittled the u.n. for year and years?  bolton doesn't have the best personality ... he doesn 't work to negociate with others and he degrades people that work below him.  i guess that what really struck me when i was reading about him was that he doesn't seem to want to work with others in foreign policy.  he seems to be the "do what i say and don't question me" type of guy ... and ... well ... that sucks.
and social security ... geeze.  yes it is an issue and yes the government should deal with it, but is privatizing accounts really the way to go?  i mean, it's going to put a drain on the economy, benefits will be lowered, think about how much it will cost to transfer the systems .... plus, what will happen to medical benefits or survivor benefits?  i think that we need to fix the kinks in this system.  social security takes care of our old kids.  it won't ever be perfect, but it's more reliable than accounts.  fdr  ... that guy was really onto something.
you know, bush has been in office now for three months in his second term.  his job approval rating is at 46%.  wow.  all of the other 2-term presidents had approval ratings above 50% after the first three months.  truman had 57%, clinton had 59%, eisenhower had 65%, ect. ect. ect.  i don't remember any more.
you know, i don't think i'm ever quite "done" talking about bush ... but it is beyond bed time.

peace.

so ....
there were these students who put up this picture at this art show.  it was a mock stamp that had the image of a gun pointed at bush's head.  secret service flew out to chicago to see it.  i mean, holy crap, you gotta be kidding me right?  politically charged art work is now considered a security threat?  they can bite me.
this guy was kidnapped in iraq and shown on tv with masked insurgants surrounding him holding guns .... and so what did bush do today?  he held a press conference with the new england patriots to make them feel special.  wow.  ladies and gents, the leader of the free world.  what an ... never mind.
and whats going on with florida?  another girl was kidnapped, and ... well, that really needs to stop.  there were all of these sex offenders that lived near her, and here now is the catch 22.  these guys have done their time, they have paid back their debt to society, and they are registered, but studies prove that pedophilies recommit crimes ... so what are we supposed to do with them?  i mean, they have these like pills and stuff that kill the sex drive, but .... is that really the only solution we have?  i think that we should ... do something more.
mike's home from iraq.  i'm so glad he's home, but i wish he would come visit me.  i just miss him so much.
anyways, those are my 2 cents on life.  oh, and GO RED SOX!!

so ... i'm really going to try and write on this.

i'm at steph's now ... just hanging out.  my class was cancelled today so that made me happy.  i was so tired though, last night i went with a bunch of friends to see stop laughing mom, and it made me giggle.  but then i came back and played with my suitemates and so ... it got pretty late.

so.  this is my take on life.  i hate bush.  and i think that tom delay is an arrogant, contradictory, currupt bitch.  i think that the republicans overstepped their boundaries with the terri schivo case.  the pope was a good guy and he did a lot of good things ... helping to stop communism and extending his hand to other religions, but i didn't like his take on a few issues.  he was a little too conservative, women should be allowed to be priests if they want to.  i don't know, i guess i shouldn't say anything cuz i'm not catholic, but that bugs me.

LadyBugSPL: so ... drunk stephanie is sober mary

hahaha that cracked me up
